1. Stamina 1690 Power Tower Review

This pull up dip station is made for those people who don't have much space at home to store large exercise equipment. It's also light, so relatively easy to relocate. Hence, it's the right choice for people living in an apartment or has just a little space at the home gym.

The footprint of the machine is 49 ×42.5, so it doesn't need much space. However, such a limited foundation makes the tower unbalanced, mainly if heavy people use it (over 180 pounds). The height of the pull-up bar is 81 inch which is suitable for most of us.

The tower is equipped with a pull-up bar, push up bars, dip bars, sit up bars but no vertical leg lift station.

  • The pull-up bar is broad, and we can have multiply grip positions.
  • The dip bars are relatively short compared to other power towers, but the foam padding gives a solid grip.
  • The push-up stand is comfortable to use thanks to the foam padding.
  • The sit-up bar isn't safe to use since the item is light, so that it may fall over.

The maximum weight capacity of Stamina 1690 is 250 lb. The frame is made of steel, but the tubing isn't so thick. That's why the tower is light and can't hold a higher load.

2. Stamina X Power Tower Review

The X model is an enhanced version of Stamina 1690 with a vertical knee raise station, but the other features are almost identical.

It has the same compact footprint and height. The frame is also the same. Hence the weight limit is also 250 lbs.

The vertical knee raise station (VKR) is what makes this exercise tower different. It's comfortable since the back and armrests are thickly padded. Also, the angled back pad supports the lower back during knee and leg lifts.

Another enhancement is the dip bars at the end of the VKR. We can go deeper and have more room for the movements.

Who is the Stamina X for?

If the compact design and the vertical knee raise station are essential for you, get this instead of 1690. But, it's still an entry-level power tower for people under 200 pounds and average level bodyweight workouts.

3. Stamina 1698 Review

This model has a few extra features that improve the workout experience.

It has a multi-grip pull-up bar that let us do a different type of pull-ups and chin-ups with narrow, wide and hammer grips. Therefore, we can strengthen the back and arms from different angles.

We can strengthen the abs in two ways. Firstly, we can use the vertical knee raise station to have controlled, and easier leg lifts. We can also use the ab straps that require more power but work all the core muscles efficiently.

Unfortunately, the VKR station doesn't have armrests and a back pad, but a foam roller that is not comfortable.

If we compare the frame and the base of the Stamina X power tower to the previous ones, we can see a few differences. The stabilizers at the bottom are longer at the front and bending to the sides, giving a better balance. Also, at the back, we can find support for the uprights.

It's shaky a little bit because of the light frame, and the weight capacity is 250 lb, which isn't much.

A dedicated push-up station isn't included with the pull-up tower, but we can adjust the dip bars to lower levels.

Although Stamina 1698 has more significant dimensions than 1690 or X, it has a space-saving design. We can put it in the corner of a room, for example.

4. Stamina X Fortress Review

Fortress X is the high-end model among the Stamina power towers. It differs a lot from the previous three and is made for advanced level sportspeople.

We can see that the frame is far more robust than the previous ones have. It's durable solid steel construction. Because of that and the H-base, the home pull up station is very stable and heavy (150 lb). Users don't feel any rocking at all. The capacity is 250 lb, but people heavier than that use it without any problem.

The pull-up station allows us to do wide and narrow grip exercises. It's also equipped with strong hold grips. Those are virtually two balls with which we do hangs and pulls. These exercises boost the power of the hands and forearms. If you want strong grips and developed lower arms, you should use them.

I think it was an excellent idea from Stamina that they add a plyo box to the pull up dip tower. Plyometric exercises are a combination of strength and cardio, leading to functional strength and explosive power. We can adjust the box in 4 positions (6"-18"-20"-22"-24").

We can adjust the dip bars in 8 positions for full or bench dips. Also, we can use the dip bars for the incline or standard push-ups.

The only downside is the VKR station, which doesn't include elbow pads. But, the ab slings substitute this function.

We get 3 years warranty for the frame and 90 days for the other parts.

5. Stamina Outdoor Power Tower Review

I love working outdoors in my backyard. Being in the fresh air is much better than the gym. The problem is that we need to use outdoor equipment that is protected from the sun and water.

The Stamina outdoor workout tower is covered with a special paint that stands the weather. It won't be rusty and pale.
